Victoria & Matt – Savannah Rainy Day Elopement – Savannah Elopement Photography

You can plan the time and the date. You can plan the dress and suit. You can pick out the rings and the bouquet. But you can't control the weather! As a Savannah elopement photographer there are few nail-biting experiences quite like the sudden appearance of rain clouds overhead. And the question is, what do you do when it rains on your wedding day?

Victoria and Matt had chosen Savannah as the destination for their elopement. The square they had selected provided minimal protection from foul weather. Victoria hated the rain, and the very idea of a rainy wedding was more than enough to dampen spirits. Luckily, Savannah is full of beautiful squares with amazing features like fountains, majestic oaks, and a gazebo here and there.

As it turned out, wedding day rain was no reason to fret. We were located in picturesque Whitefield Square where the gazebo provided shelter for this Savannah rainy day elopement. Once the ceremony was over, though, we braved the forces of nature and had a great time splashing in the rain. A few hours of sogginess is a small price to pay for one of a kind elopement photographs.

In the end, the unique look of a rainy day adds a beautiful and magical essence to the elopement photography. So many people are married in the dappled rays of sunlight. If you're worried that rain might ruin your wedding day, just remember that water is a symbol of life. Water is a symbol of replenishment, rejuvenation, and love itself. Most importantly, remember that water dries off with a towel and the pictures look fabulous!
