There is a profound sense of joy that comes from witnessing a marriage that has taken decades to arrive. When it finally became legal for the gay community to wed, so many couples were given the chance to legally commit to one another. All over the country couples who have been denied this blissful event scheduled their ceremonies. Savannah is one of the most beautiful destinations for weddings and elopement. I have worked hard to ensure that everyone knows I am available and supportive to the LGBT community for wedding photography.
Karen and Janice had been together for nearly 30 years, and when they had the opportunity to exchange vows they chose Savannah as the backdrop for their elopement. Their joy was so easy to capture with my camera. They had an absolute glow about them as they celebrated their nuptials. Their ceremony was planned during the festive holiday season in Savannah., and it was magical. Whitefield Square was decked out for the holidays with a Dickensian flair. The historic district of downtown Savannah is an elopement photographers dream, and even more so when the holidays are near. From this elopements sand ceremony, to the high fives shared after the first kiss, this same sex elopement has it's own kind of magic!
